Welcome to Bermuda!
Situated 1046 km (650 mi) off the coast of North Carolina, USA, Bermuda is an isolated group of islands thriving on international business and tourism. While officially recognized as an overseas territory of the United Kingdom, Bermuda is best described as a self-governing and culturally distinct nation shaped by its remote location, subtropical climate and diverse population.
The warm waters of the Gulf Stream keep the more than 130 islands warm and humid all year round. The summer season (April through October) is also hurricane season, and weather patterns can be unpredictable. During the off season (November through March), the ocean is often considered too cold for watersports. As a result, many visitors turn their attention to land-based activities such as golf, tennis and squash. At this time, there are fewer tourists and only a few cruise ships if any.
